Working with the Arts

With
the understanding that the creative impulse is, at its deepest, a spiritual
impulse, the University has organized a number of 'Spirituality in the
Arts' seminars and conferences worldwide. Four annual international
conferences in Sardinia, Italy, brought artists from over fifty countries
together to explore the role of meditation and spiritual values in the
creative process
Working with the Sciences

During
the past decade many scientists in mainstream scientific research have
begun to encounter and recognise the role and influence of consciousness
in their work. Following four international symposia focused around
Science and Consciousness in Greece and Mexico, the University has initiated
a specific research project entitled SPARC (Spiritual Application and
Research Centre) to explore the subtle mechanics and influences of the
human mind.
Working with Health Practitioners

As
the link between spiritual well-being and physical health becomes more
widely recognized and accepted by the health profession, the University
works closely with healthcare professionals to raise awareness of the
value of spiritual health. The University also organizes courses and
seminars to support health professionals in the development of spiritual
skills, including the 'All India Health Awareness' campaign, symposia
in Guatemala and regular residential retreats at the Global Retreat
Centre, UK ; Peace Village, New York; Asia Pacific Retreat Centre, Australia
and many others.
Working with Business Leaders and Managers

As
the techno-revolution forces organizations to alter systems and structures,
the role of both leader and manager is also transforming. To assist
those playing a management role, the University has established a range
of self-management programmes and courses based on spiritual values
and principles. With the understanding that all forms of management
are dependent on the successful management of one's thoughts, actions
and behaviour, these courses are now available in many countries where
the University is located.
Working with Prison Staff

The
University offers support to both prison staff and prisoners through
a variety of forums, courses and retreats. These are designed to empower
individuals to be more able to cope with and overcome the difficult
circumstances of prison work and make a positive contribution to prison
life. Courses and workshops are run for staff and inmates on topics
such as Positive Thinking; Stress Management; Meditation and Values
Development. Such has been the international acceptance of the work
of the University that in some prisons, permanent meditation centers
have been established and in Mauritius, Positive Thinking has been incorporated
into the training programme at the Prison Officers Training School.
Working with Youth

As
more and more young people find it harder to find focus and a sense
of purpose in a fast changing world, the University has organized
a variety of retreats, seminars and conferences worldwide to assist
them. The University also participated in the UN International Year
of Youth worldwide. A recent series of youth rallies in Asia reached
out to youth to help them develop the spiritual dimension of their
lives.

it "
